RE: jay feather lgt 27p

Are you sure its a 2006 Jay Feather LGT 27P. I have the 2006 Jay feather brochure, and there isn't a 27P listed. There isn't anything ending in a P or anything starting with 27.

RE: quad bunk house & Wrap around dinette

Another one to look at is the Jayco Jay Feather EXP 29A. Also has teh 2 year warranty. I'm going on year number two with it, and still loving it.

RE: Need Help Buying Our First Travel Trailer

Another vote for an ultralite like the Jayco 29A a few people suggested. Or look at the Jayco Jay Feather LGT 30U. Very similar to what your looking at, but it's 1000 lbs lighter. I'm pulling Jay Feather 29A with my Expedition, and the combination is great.

RE: cleaning the rubber roof on my 08 Jayco

this_is_nascar, The other reason is because it is recommended maintenance by the manufacter. I would guess keeping it white might help keep in cooler also. I'm sure it will help with resale also. I would look at the roof to see how well it was maintained before buying. mosseater, If you look at my earlier post the manufacturer recommends a soft bristle brush. Now you may not have the same material, but I'm guessing you don't want to be using a real stiff brush.

RE: cleaning the rubber roof on my 08 Jayco

Actually I don't know about spic and span! My 07 Jayco has an Alpha systems Royal tuff TPO roof. Here are the instructions from the manufacturers site. Notice they say Murphys Oil. Cleaning and Maintaining the Royal Tuff-Ply Roof Proper care, cleaning and maintenance of TPO roofing is quite simple due to the basic properties and longevity of the material. Periodic cleaning is the primary maintenance needed. Alpha Systems recommends using Murphy's Oil SoapĀ® with a soft nylon brush or sponge to clean Tuff-Ply. DO NOT USE SOLID OR GRANULATED CLEANERS, as they will mar the natural finish. Here is the link: http://www.alphasystemsinc.com/royaltpo.htm

RE: Success Greasing E-Z Lube Hubs???

Everyone thanks for the input. I actually had them on my popup and lubed them once without issue. The mechanic at my dealer making the negative comment is what scared me. Then seeing other negative input on this side didn't help. It is great getting postive feedback. I'm sure Jayco would not of put them on if they were an issue. It just helps getting positive input from others, and hearing what works for others. Thanks again.

RE: Who is thinking they made right decision to go ultralight?

Some very good posts here. It seems that trailer weight has a lesser effect on mileage that you would believe, to a point. Most towing with a half ton are getting between 9 and 11, even pulling as much as 6500 pounds. Apparently wind resistance plays a big role in the mileage, even though my trailer is "low-profile" the mileage I get is not much different the various other trailers mentioned. All that aside, the advantage of the "light" trailer is the ability to use a half-ton for towing, and then benefit from good mileage for the 50 weeks of the year that you are not towing a trailer. However, if I was retired and on the road much more often the 3/4 ton and the bigger trailer would be my choice. Very good summary. I agree with everything you said. The surprising thing is everyone is pretty much getting along on this topic. The only other thing I would add is the ability to use a 1/2 ton SUV. For those of us with 3 or more kids the ulta-lite buys us the ability to tow a larger trailer. And still have a daily driver that halls 5 people in comfort.

Success Greasing E-Z Lube Hubs???

How many of you have sucessfully lubed your E-Z Lube Hub and not had any troubles. My trailer is a year old and I should lubricate the bearings. I remember a mechanic making a negative comment about the these hubs. So I searched the forum, and see negative comments. But the comments don't seem to be from people who have had issues. So I was wondering how many of you Lubricate the E-Z Lube hubs via the grease fitting? And did you have any problems?

RE: Who is thinking they made right decision to go ultralight?

And all along I thought I was the only one getting bad gas mileage. It seems no matter what the tow vehicle we all get around 8 MPG.

RE: Who is thinking they made right decision to go ultralight?

My Jayco ultra lite does have a lower profile, thus less wind resistance. A few people posted the ultra-lites have just as much wind resistance. Which is not true. Not all ultra-lites have the lower profile, but Jayco and many others do. The other misconception is they sit too low and scrape the ground a lot. That hasn't happened once to me. I want to say they sit between 12" and 18" lower. I will also add I love my Jayco.

RE: how many times

I'm in the middle of waxing mine now. I only did it once mid season last year. Make sure you wax the front. Last year after 4 trips it took forever to get the bugs off. Well there were no bugs this time. I'm guessing the wax made it so they didn't stick, and over the winter the snow scraped them off for me.

RE: so disappointed in jayco and rv direct

Wow, not thats funny. My post in support of mark1228 somehow disappeared from this subject. I had posted right after the moderator, and it was there for while, but I just logged in to check on updates and noticed someone deleted it. Let me know if I broke a rule I didn't know about. In the end it looks like a lot of people have valued the opinion of mark1228. The only other thing I suggested that may of been controversal is suggesting others that need to take a deep breath should be scolded. I also stated mark1228 wasn't trying to sell anything or promote his company. Which I believe is the intent of the rule.

RE: First real trip with Jayco 29A...success!

I have the same problem with the expansion joints in the road. In my Expy it is basically annoying, and the kid in the back seat seems to feel it the most. The noise is irratating also. When I was towing a popup with my minivan the bounce got so bad it was dangerous if I didn't slow down to 50. Speed change seems to help some. I just purchased new tires and I'm hoping that will help this year. I'll let you know what I find out. Glad to hear your liking the 29A. We love ours. We had it out about 8 times last year and didn't have a single problem. I have it at the dealer now to repair a few little things, but nothing major. I just figured I might as well make use of the warranty. Tow yours over to warrens wisconsin and try out the Jelly Stone there. Your kids will love it.

RE: so disappointed in jayco and rv direct

I support my local business people that hire local people that pay local rent and pay local taxes and in turn supports the local community and supports his local customers... over the life of my relationship with my dealer I usually get more than I could of saved by buying from a broker... Amen to that. Couldn't of said it better.

RE: so disappointed in jayco and rv direct

Local dealers aren't any better. Thats a very misinformed statement. My dealer has been great. Maybe you should do your homework before buying next time. I did and have been very happy with my dealer.

Another vote for Lafuma. Walmart may have similar ones, but they weight about 3 times more.

RE: Fleetwood Selling Pop-up Division to Non RV Entity

Wow that is a real bummer. We loved our fleetwood, and to be honest do not think other pups compared in quality (and you paid for it). It will be interesting to see what the new owners do.
